AICPA National Conference on Employee Benefit Plans

This three-day event put on by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants will inform conferencegoers on how recent legislation impacts the taxation, accounting and auditing of employee benefit plans. Presenters are from the Department of Labor, Internal Revenue Service and Department of Treasury and will discuss topics such as SAS 104-111 implementation, understanding your plan processes — defined contribution, planning/audit mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs and terminations, and limited scope audits.

NACVA's 2008 15th Annual Consultants' Conference

The theme of this year's conference, presented by the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, is "Rising to the Top of Your Game in Valuation and Financial Forensics." The conference will feature nine tracks and more than 50 sessions. Topics will include progressive valuation, mainstream valuation, forensic accounting, academic research, litigation consulting, international valuation, practice management and various consulting specialties.

20th Annual General Counsel Conference

This event provides a forum for general council and senior in-house council in leading industries. The program will include discussions of the latest information on topics such as maximizing IP value, key developments in FCPA compliance, data management and security, sustainability, enterprise risk management, board governance, and new strategies for managing your law department.

SHRM Conference and Exposition

The Society for Human Resource Management's 60th annual conference and exposition will feature keynote speakers including Sidney Poitier and Doris Kearns Goodwin, and a performance by Lionel Richie. This year's event will include new sessions on strategic persuasion and talent acquisition, executive coaching, and an international track. There will also be four SHRM certificate programs for human resource professionals seeking to advance their professional development.

Investment and M&A Opportunities in Healthcare

This conference brings together health care and investment industry executives to discuss mergers and acquisitions in the health care industries. There will be networking opportunities, a keynote address by John K. Gorman, CEO, Gorman Health Group, and speakers on topics such as the future of the regulatory landscape, health care technology, the role of private equity in health care M&A, international mergers and nonprofits.

2nd Annual Drug Delivery Summit

The Drug Delivery Summit offers a critical examination and discussion of the trends and issues currently facing the drug delivery industry. 2008 Retinal Physician Symposium

Hosted by Retinal Physician, this event is intended for general ophthalmologists, retinal specialists and support personnel involved in care of patients with retinal diseases. The symposium will cover current and future treatment strategies in medical and surgical retina care. New therapies and treatments for posterior segment disease and disorder will be examined. Attendees will also be afforded valuable networking opportunities.

HFMA's ANI 2008

The Healthcare Financial Management Association's annual conference will feature more than 80 education sessions on topics such as management, the revenue cycle, payment, reimbursement or managed care, and compliance. Attendees will take home a free CD containing many of the session handouts. The conference will also offer numerous networking opportunities, as well as a supplier exhibit. Keynote speakers will include Richard J. Umbdenstock, president and CEO American Hospital Association, and political commentators James Carville and Mary Matalin.

Supply Chain Executive Conference

The theme of this year's Supply Chain Executive Conference, presented by AMR Research, is "Globalization Comes Home." The keynote speaker will be former President of Mexico Vicente Fox. Supply chain and manufacturing executives from corporations such as Cisco, Dow Chemical and Bombardier will also present. The event will include numerous educational sessions and networking opportunities.

A Passion for Manufacturing

Presented by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, this event will allow attendees to see what's happening in manufacturing, share ideas and success stories, develop resources and connections, and collaborate with other manufacturers across all industries. There will be industry keynotes and networking opportunities, interactive events and lean-in-action manufacturing facilities tours.

Great Lakes Manufacturing Council Forum 2008

This event will bring together manufacturing, political and economic leaders from the Great Lakes region to discuss manufacturing's place in the new economy. Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland will deliver the welcome address, and speakers will address topics including the regional economy, federal manufacturing policy, innovation, work force and globalization. There will also be presentations on how best to promote regional manufacturing and enhance the industry's image. On the last day of the event, attendees will have the chance to tour Cleveland manufacturing centers.

TEM 2008

TEM 2008, presented by AOTMP, is for telecom and IT professionals. The conference will cover the best practices for meeting telecom operational objectives, strategies for effective telecom environment management, establishing metrics for managing telecom assets, and streamlining telecom operations to maximize staff productivity. Attendees can also take the opportunity to earn AOTMP certification.

ASMC 2008

The 2008 Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing Conference will begin with a welcome reception May 4, followed by three days of peer-reviewed papers and keynotes from AMD, IBM, Intel, Linde Electronics and Synopsys among others. Leading technologists and scientists from North America, Europe and Asia will cover topics such as advanced metrology, contamination-free manufacturing, lithography advances, yield methodologies and many more.

ISPCON Spring 2008

IPSCON, "The Internet Industry Event," is a peer-to-peer educational forum with programs centered on case studies and real world, operating experiences. The three-day conference will consist of four tracks on topics such as wireless Web services applications and hosting, and business, finance and marketing. The event also includes a CEO exchange networking session.

2008 IEEE International Interconnect Technology Conference

The International Interconnect Technology Conference provides an international forum for professionals in the semiconductor industry to discuss interconnect technology. There will be a short course on June 1 covering advanced interconnect process, design and reliability issues. Attendees will also have the chance to attend supplier exhibits and seminars, and listen to oral presentations and poster papers on new technologies.

Web Content 2008

Technology, content and marketing authorities are all welcome to attend Web Content 2008. There will be two tracks offered: Web Content Strategies, Practices and Standards; and Web Content Tools and Technologies. Each track will include presentations, case studies and workshops, and attendees are allowed to pick one track or mix-and-match sessions. Charles Cooper, vice president of the Rockley Group, will be the featured speaker.

Biodetection Technologies 2008

Presented by the Knowledge Foundation Technology Commercialization Alliance, this conference is dedicated to discussing technological responses to biological threats. There will be presentations on PCR and non-PCR nucleic acids-based detection, reagent/reagentless or biosensor-based detection, and point-of-care methods/toxins and pathogen detection. Additionally there will be a special session on exploiting bacteriophage for biological threat response, and a one-day symposium on "real life" sample preparation for toxin and pathogen detection.

eMetrics Marketing Optimization Summit

Retailers who attend the eMetrics Optimization Summit will have the opportunity to learn how to optimize the value of their online marketing. Experts and peers will share what they know about topics such as Web site optimization, search analytics, Web 2.0, campaign optimization, customer experience and e-mail metrics. The event will also offer workshops on usability and predictive analytics.

STORE 2008 Canada's Retail Conference

STORE 2008 will focus on loyalty from the perspective of customers, communities, employees, business partners and retailers. Speakers and information sessions will explore loyalty as it relates to corporate social responsibility, consumer trends, channel optimization, technology and productivity, retail marketing and new media, retail operations, human resource development and more. Conference activities will also include an exhibit hall and awards dinner.

Internet Retailer 2008 Conference and Exhibition

This four-day conference will include 72 sessions, 125 speakers from every retail channel and three workshops. NRF Loss Prevention Conference and EXPO

Loss prevention executives will have the chance to learn best practices, network with peers and suppliers, and view cutting edge loss prevention products and technologies at the National Retail Federation Loss Prevention Conference and EXPO. The EXPO Hall will feature a mock store displaying loss prevention products in a real retail environment. Other conference events include a charity golf outing and a chance to meet with local, state and federal law enforcement officials.
